C/ARC GREEN COMMITMENT: CLEANUP

Monday, January 4, 2010

A few years ago, after putting up with our office cleaning crew using whatever they brought, we convinced them to use products we'd been purchasing for our home that don’t have a nasty smell, make our skin crawl, give us allergies, contribute to the infertility of fish, or otherwise damage the environment.

We’d experimented with a variety of products until we found the right combination of good smells and products that were actually effective at getting things clean. Ultimately we found that we couldn't buy all we needed/wanted from one manufacturer of clean green products.

But we found that some of the products are so mild that the cleaning crews felt like they were being punished because they had to work so much harder. Ultimately, we collected a good group of products.

Although we generally like Method products, x-nay on the daily shower cleaner. We also HATE the bottle Method's dish soap comes in -- great looking but it's a tremendous pain in the neck to get soap out of that beast.

Now any time the office is cleaned, Linda G -- our great ID person and resident dog rescue maven -- no longer sneezes her head off along with red, runny eyes...big change.
